“I want to volunteer!”
Thank you for considering volunteering to coach our kids and share your experience and time to help develop our kids.
St. Justin Martyr Athletic Association believes in helping to develop our coaches and in creating safe environments for children participating in our athletic programs.
All coaches/volunteers must have completed:
- The Archdiocese’s Protecting God’s Children Workshop – These workshops are given at Parishes across the Archdiocese on a regular basis. Here is the link for more information…
http://www.cycstl.net/coaches/protecting-gods-children-workshops - Missouri Background Check – This is done every 2 years. You must contact the Parish Office at 314-843-8482 or business@stjustinmartyr.org and sign a form approving SJMAA to complete this background check.
- Code of Ethical Conduct – This is completed online with Coaching To Make A Positive Difference.
- Coaching To Make A Positive Difference – This is the CYC Coaches Training Program mandated for all coaches by the Archdiocese. Here is the link to the Program…http://www.cycstl.net/coaches/coaches-training-program
Upon completion of Coaching To Make A Positive Difference you will be able to print a certificate of completion which includes a unique number which you will need to obtain a CYC Card. CYC Cards can be ordered here…
Finally, as rosters are now submitted electronically, coaches must sign up through the SI Play website and add themselves as Coach or Assistant Coach for each season and sport. Coaches must also add their CYC ID Card number (this is only done once)
Please review and complete these coaching requirements well ahead of your season to make sure you will be able to coach/manage without any last-minute surprises. All requirements must be completed before a coach can work with the kids at a practice or game.
