SJMAA Instructional Baseball Option: PreK and Kindergarten boys and Girls: We started a new Friday Night Pre/K and Kindergarten SJM ONLY league in 2023. If there’s enough interest, we’ll have it again in 2024. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet up and hang out while their children play small, sided games with the softest baseball available.
SJMAA 1st and 2nd grade option: the CYC Archdiocese runs a league that can place them in the appropriate teams. (assuming there are at least 11 signups for that age group).
CYC Baseball and Softball 3rd Grade thru 8th Grade Option: For older players in grades 3 through 8, SJMAA participates in the CYC league, with practices usually beginning in March. Games typically start in mid-April and run through June, with playoffs for 5th grade and above commencing the last week of June. The league features a “Competitive/Recreation” status to categorize teams based on competitiveness. Registration for all age groups opens in December and closes in mid-February. Sign up early to get a discount, but if you sign up late, you’ll have to pay a late fee.
Baseball and Softball Season Timing: Practices generally begin sometime in March, with games starting in April and concluding in June. Teams for these age groups may utilize pitching machines to ensure consistent play and keep players engaged through small-sided games. While teams are not available at every grade level, efforts are made to accommodate interested players through other parishes.
