St. Justin Martyr Athletic Association Track Program Information

SJMAA offers a Track Program for girls and boys PreK through 8th Grade.  Preschool kids must be currently attending school (doesn’t have to be Justin Time), potty trained and able to understand direction from adults.

Registration usually opens mid-January and remains open through February.  Late fees apply after initial registration period. All athletes will require a CYC card. The registration fee includes a SJM Track Team shirt which they can keep.

Practices begin mid-March and are at various sites including Lindbergh and Vianney. The season runs through mid-May.

We participate in a CYC Practice Meet and CYC Qualifying Meet. Those placing Top 6 in their event(s) qualify for the CYC Finals.  We also hold an SJM Track Meet so that all Preschoolers on the team can participate.

Participants are grouped by age.  The age groups and events that athletes can compete in are as follows:

7 & Under – events include Softball Throw, Standing Long Jump, 50M, 100M and 200M.

8-9 – events include Softball Throw, Standing Long Jump, 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M and team relays of 4 X100, 4 X 200 and 4 X 400

10-11, 12-13 & 14-15 – events include Shot Put, Running Long Jump, High Jump 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1600M and team relays of 4 X100, 4 X 200 and 4 X 400.

CYC Meets require parental volunteers to run the events.  Each parent must volunteer for a two-hour time slot at each meet their child participates in.
