Art & Environment

Decorations bring the beauty of God’s creation into the place of worship through art and nature. The artwork comes through seasonal banners and decorations for Christmas, Holy Week, and other special occasions. The beauty of God’s natural creation comes into the Church through altar flowers, live plants, wreaths, and trees. Those who serve in this ministry love to make things beautiful. “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Hosts.” Psalm 84. Contact person: Mary Gioia, 314-849-7659

Students celebrate First Reconciliation in December and First Holy Communion in April. Please contact Marge Kathalynas, 314-843-6447, ext. 2499 or Kathalynas@stjustinmartyr.org.

Confirmation instruction is administered in the Day school and the Parish School of Religion program. The Sacrament is celebrated at the Cathedral once a year, generally in the spring. Parish Mission

It is customary for parishes to invite a missionary priest or Catholic speaker every 3 years to lead a mission for 3-4 consecutive nights for the parish community. A Mission is a time of special grace when God calls us into a deeper relationship with Him, a time for personal growth, a time to listen to God, and a time of spiritual refreshment and invigoration. The Mission is for EVERYONE! It is for all ages and any stage in life, and it does not matter if you are very active or inactive in the Church. We particularly invite those who want to know more about the Church today and how it can take an active role in the everyday experience of work, leisure, family, and friendships.
