Young adolescents have unique intellectual, developmental and social needs. Our experienced middle school staff understands these very well. We provide an environment that supports these needs and fosters a successful learning environment and transition to high school.

St. Justin middle school students are given more choices, responsibilities and leadership opportunities than their elementary peers. With each successive year in middle school our students grow in their faith, self-reliance and academic proficiency, becoming young men and women we are proud to call SJM alumni.

High School
Readiness

Our academic rigor and study skill development sets up each student for success wherever they choose to attend high school. Repeatedly, our students come back to report that they were very well prepared. Our students are consistently admitted into their first choice high school.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION

Technology in the Classroom

We utilize a wide array of technology (digital devices, software, and learning platforms) that enable us to tailor the curriculum to each student’s academic needs and learning styles. Other digital technologies support communication between teachers, students and parents. Our technology staff develops safeguards that ensure the safety of each student, one of our greatest priorities.

CHROMEBOOKS

Field Trips & Sixth Grade Camp

Exploring beyond the classroom fosters our students’ critical thinking, curiosity and cultural awareness. The middle school takes a joint field trip each semester. Each grade is also encouraged to take their own field trips. Our sixth grade students venture to Trout Lodge every spring for three days of team building and outdoor activities!

OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

EXPLORE Classes

As a result of a request from students over a decade ago to increase the diversity of our programming, we developed EXPLORE classes. These ungraded elective classes run for a semester and allow our students to explore a variety of subjects. Students can learn how to sew, program robots, plant a garden, care for chickens, provide community service, work with pottery or other unique artistic mediums, balance a checkbook or even engage in their first BookClub!
