Youth Formation

We took a day hike to Fern Grotto and ate lunch there. On the way back to the trailhead we stopped at Castle Rock and played sardines. It was a beautiful clear day for a hike and the scenery was really amazing.

May the Fun Be With You! Fall Fun Rally is an annual gathering of about 1500 teenagers from the St. Louis area and beyond. It is held at Beaumont. There are games, blow up rides, LARPing, historical reinactors, scuba diving, Pop Jack’s Handcrafted Sodas, archery, crate stacking, and more.

A week of summer camp at Swift Base intermingled with the sacraments. We sailed, went to Hucks Cove water park, canoed, spent a night in the treehouses. We also completed a Kodiak Challenge leadership training course. And there was mass, reconciliation, adoration and daily prayer. 

We spent a weekend at Swift Lodge. We went canoeing, paddleboarding, and fishing. We hiked to Castle Rock and played there. The games of nine square were competitive.  There were lots of board games in the cabin. 

We went to the Cathedral Basilica for a Mass celebrating the feast of  St. Louis on the 250th anniversary of our city. Afterwards we enjoyed Ted Drewes ice cream with Bishop Rice at a service fair where we learned about service opportunities in our area
