Leaf Raking for the Elderly
December 2 was a beautiful day to rake leaves for our senior citizens. We visited five houses in three hours and filled 61 bags of leaves. We will be visiting our elderly neighbors again in January for more yard work. Watch for details.

Who do you let challenge you? 2nd Sunday of Advent
Some years ago, my brother Joe was blessed to be hiking in the mountains in Montana. They were talking and enjoying the hike when two women came running out of the woods in front of them, then flew right past them on the narrow path, terrified, saying ‘Bear … bear … bear”.

What is the most dangerous part of Advent for you? 1st Sunday of Advent
Let me share two quick stories for this first Sunday of Advent. I was not a patient driver the other day. I had to make a trip to Catholic Supply for some advent supplies.

Are you familiar with the TV series “undercover boss”? (Feast of Christ the King)
The show, Undercover Boss, aired for 8 seasons. The plot is simple. A high ranking official in a company goes undercover. They are given a disguise and a new back story, and show up with a film crew following them around under the guise of a “documentary” being done about entry level positions.

Who do you identify most with in today’s gospel? The guy given 5 talents? 2 talents? 1 talent? or someone else? 33rd Sunday A
It is easy to sympathize with that last guy in the gospel – The one who played it safe. The one who received only ONE talent.
