Sometimes a home-cooked meal is just what someone needs to get through a difficult day. Thanks to the Freezer Meals Ministry at St. Justin Martyr, parishioners have a simple way to offer that kindness to friends, family, and neighbors.
Our volunteer cooks recently prepared 29 more meals to stock the parish freezer! These generous parishioners donate the ingredients, spend time cooking together, and package the meals so they are ready to bake. Before the meals go into the freezer, the volunteers gather around them to pray, asking God to bless the people and families who will receive them. 🙏
The meals are available free of charge for parishioners to pick up and deliver to anyone who might appreciate a little extra care. Perhaps you know someone who:
- Recently welcomed a new baby
- Is caring for a sick family member
- Has experienced the loss of a loved one
- Is elderly or lives alone
- Is having a particularly difficult week
- Is new to the parish and would appreciate a warm welcome
There doesn’t have to be a special reason. Sometimes it’s enough to let someone know you’re thinking of them.
A special thank-you goes to everyone who helps deliver these meals. The ministry depends on parishioners who notice when someone could use a little help and take the time to reach out. ❤️
How to Share a Meal
To pick up one or more meals for someone you know, call or text Jeannine at 314-630-6419.
Each pan provides approximately 2–3 servings, and multiple pans are available for larger families. The freezer includes a variety of meals, along with vegetables, bread, and cookie dough when available.
As meals are given away, volunteers will continue preparing more.
The Freezer Meals Ministry hopes that every person receiving a meal will feel the care of the St. Justin Martyr community and know that they are not alone.
