Call for Yarn: Supporting Restorative Justice at Potosi

By

During the month of January, St. Justin Martyr is collecting leftover yarn to support a Restorative Justice program at Potosi Correctional Center. This program gives inmates a chance to give back to the community while learning a useful skill. Through knitting, they create hats, blankets, and scarves for newborn babies and people who are unhoused.

The Restorative Justice Program helps participants earn credit hours for their work while serving others in a meaningful way. These handmade items provide warmth and comfort to people in need, especially during cold months. Each donation of yarn helps make this outreach possible and supports both the makers and the recipients.

St. Justin’s Faith and Justice group will have a collection bin available throughout January. You can place your yarn donation in the Gathering Space of the church or drop it off at the school office. Leftover yarn from past projects is perfect for this effort.
