Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Thursday, March 28, 2024

Join us for the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7pm on March 28.  After Mass there will be adoration until midnight in the Parish Center.

The Mass of the Lord’s Supper has great significance for Catholics, as it commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples and the institution of the Eucharist.

During the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, the priest washes the feet of the faithful, in imitation of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper. This act of humility and service emphasizes the importance of Christian love and the call to serve others.

The Mass concludes with the procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the altar of repose which will be set up in the Parish Center. This tradition represents the time that Jesus spent in the Garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper, and invites the faithful to keep vigil with Christ as he prepares for his Passion and death.
