Tenebrae Service

Wednesday, March 27, 2024

Join us at 7pm on Wednesday March 27 for a service of dark and light, and reflections on the passion. Tenebrae features scripture readings and music and lasts only about 35 minutes.

Tenebrae (Latin for “darkness” or “shadows”) is an ancient Catholic liturgical event that has seen a re-birth in many Catholic parishes. The service, conducted in a semi-dark church, consists of a series of readings and psalms sung by the choir or cantor. After each reading, one of the candles in the sanctuary is extinguished, symbolizing the abandonment of Christ by His disciples.  Please come to participate.
