Where can music take a child’s imagination? The St. Louis Symphony’s Picture the Music program invites students in grades K-6 to discover an orchestral work and respond with paintings or drawings that express creative thought and emotion. This season, students explored “Juba Dance,” the third movement of Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1. These seven students’ drawings, chosen from St. Justin’s K-6 students, will advance to compete in the broader metropolitan contest.
