We are looking for new Extraordinary Ministers for our weekend Masses! Can you serve the Lord in this way?
Our lives have been upended over the last several months, and we experienced the absence of physical participation at Mass and the reception of our Lord. How difficult that was! But how blessed we now are to be able to return to church and the reception of Holy Communion! A further blessing is that we, as lay people, have the privilege of distributing the Eucharist to our fellow parishioners. Just as Jesus gave the bread and fish to His disciples to distribute to the crowd that gathered (Mark 6: 37), so the Church gives the Body and Blood of Christ to extraordinary ministers, who give it to the faithful.
Many of our current ministers are in the highest risk group for the coronavirus. We are working to keep them from distributing Communion at this time in order to protect their safety. We are seeking other parishioners to help us fill this ministry gap! We will provide you with some introductory resources to this ministry, and spend some training time with you.
