To the Heights – Seize the Summit
Scouts from Troop 116 attended this retreat which focused on the challenge of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati to “strive for the highest goals.” Encounter was a weekend of camping and outdoor fun with friends. There was live praise and worship music, Eucharistic adoration and reconciliation under the stars, and outdoor mass. This event was sponsored by the Office of Youth Ministry.
Boy Scouts is a program for boys ages 11 to 17 which helps youth learn about duty to God, others, and self. Troop 116 welcomes all youth from SJM parish or elsewhere. It doesn’t matter if you go to day school or PSR, public school or private school. All youth are invited to join Troop 116.
In February, the Boy Scout program will change to Scouts BSA and will also be open to young women. All members will have the opportunity to earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
