St. Justin Martyr Athletic Association Volleyball Program

SJMAA offers two Volleyball Programs for girls and boys 3rd through 8th grade.

  • CYC – 3rd through 8th grade.
  • Parochial – 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Tryouts are held mid-May of the prior season to determine teams. Participants must be registered for their grade level team AND enrolled in the SJM School or SJM PSR program.

Registration is usually late April or early May and remains open through mid-June. Late fees apply after initial registration period.

CYC Cards are required of all participants and coaches.

All participants are provided jerseys for use during the season. It is up to each player to provide their shorts, kneepads and shoes. Participants are responsible for returning the provided jersey to their coach to have the uniform deposit refunded after the season.

Practices begin in August and are held at SJM during the designated gym time for the participants specific team.

Volleyball regular season begins the weekend prior to Labor Day (no matches Labor Day weekend) and continues for 11 weeks.

Girls Volleyball is played on alternating Friday nights and Saturdays.

Boys Volleyball is played on alternating Friday nights and Sundays.

Parochial teams play during the week.

Following the regular season, District Playoffs are held for 5th grade levels and above, and determine the representatives from the South County District to the Archdiocesan Championships, which normally conclude in early December. Parochial playoffs are held late November into early December.
