Yes, There Is Room at the Inn

“A few days before Christmas, Jeremy Anderson sat in the basement of Christ the King Church in University City with his girlfriend and one-year-old son as they ate a barbecue dinner. It was not exactly where they’d hoped to be, but the food was warm and the conversation was good. They were grateful to have found Room at the Inn.”

The St. Louis Review recently featured an article about their experience with the Room at the Inn program.  (Read the full article.)  This program, run by the Sisters of Divine Provence, is based at a day shelter in Bridgeton.  At night, area churches provide overnight shelter, food, and hospitality.

St. Justin runs a night site on the first Saturday of each month. Go to our service projects page to volunteer. We need volunteers to set up our space, provide hospitality, to transport guests to and from the day shelter, to assist with meal preparation, serve as overnight innkeepers, clean up the site the next day, and do laundry.
