Room at the Inn

St. Justin has begun to collaborate with the Room at the Inn day shelter in Bridgeton. Room at the Inn provides emergency shelter and a stabilizing support system to women and families in need in St. Louis County. During the day, adult participants establish goals, attend self sufficiency classes, and search housing and job opportunities. Children are transported to their respective schools. The program has been around for almost 25 years and collaborates with over 60 churches and organizations within the St. Louis region to provide night time meals, hospitality, and shelter.

In June St. Justin will begin to host up to ten homeless individuals at our St. Justin facilities every 1st Saturday of each month. Volunteer opportunities vary, and each volunteer has the opportunity to help with any or all aspects of the experience. Volunteers are needed to set up our space at St. Justin for each evening of hospitality, to transport guests to and from the day shelter, to assist with meal preparation, to provide fellowship and hospitality, to inn keep, to do laundry, or to serve as a team captain. Team captains organize a team of volunteers once or twice a year. The experience provides great hands on experience to the homeless, and a wonderful opportunity for young parishioners and families to serve. The commitment to help can be as much or as little as one desires.
